Neil is a 4th Degree Knight and Field Agent and has been serving families of the Diocese of Pembroke since 1998. Neil is a strong advocate for the many lucrative fraternal benefits of the Order. Neil excels in product presentations in a pressure-free situation.
Neil and his wife, Elizabeth, have lived in Pembroke since 1988. Elizabeth is a Registered Nurse and has been working locally in care-giving over most of her career. Both Neil's father, the late Charlie (Chas) O'Connor, (a former 4th degree Knight also) and Neil's sons, Rory and Liam joined the Pembroke Council 1531 as 1st degree members.
The designations after his name represent many hours of study and Neil's commitment to ongoing education. They stand for:
  • Fraternal Insurance Counsellor (FIC) - currently a member in good standing of the North American Chapter and
  • Certified Senior Advisor (CSA) ñ presently a member in good standing of the Canadian Association
Post secondary education includes Ottawa, Laurentian and Carleton Universities and past job experiences include 10 years as a professional musician, 10 years in woodworking and building supplies and 10 years in land surveying as well as a 2 year stint as a teacher at Bishop Smith School in Pembroke.
Active in his assigned councils as a member of the membership committee and on the recruitment board, Neil plays a key part in keeping fresh faces and new ideas coming in to the local councils.
Leisure activities include music, tennis, golf and hockey.
